9 ELOPEMENT & INTIMATE WEDDING IDEAS IN THE UK & IRELAND.
ISLE OF SKYE, SCOTLAND
If you're looking for an elopement location that truly transports you to the wild and stuns you with it's landscapes - you're going to want to check out Loch Coruisk on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
Only accessible via boat, the friendly local skipper at Misty Isle Boat Trips can transport you and any guests you might have across from Elgol. And they can organise a wee toast for you post-ceremony too - cheers!
This is exactly what one of our couples - Layla & Gary - did for their micro-wedding. They took their very nearest and dearest over the sea to their gorgeously intimate wedding and we got to capture it all on video.
There are a few fantastic local celebrants & humanists based in Skye (including the lovely Rona Burstow) and it was the very well versed Penelope Hamilton who took Layla & Gary's really special ceremony.
Reception wise there is whole a range of self-catering accommodation available nearby, perfect for BBQ's in the garden and a relaxed celebration you can continue into the wee hours without fear of a looming curfew.
Travelling to Skye to capture a wedding like this is pretty much a dream job so it should be easy to source a photographer or videographer to capture your wedding. Get in touch for our availability and also check out the lovely Ross Alexander Photography.
Overlooking the Atlantic Sea, the dramatic coastline of Western Ireland is a spectacular setting for your intimate wedding. And Slea Head (the most Westerly point) will take your breath away. Hear the crashing of waves into the rugged cliffs, breathing in the freshest of sea air, all whilst declaring your love to your other half.
Just think of the amazing video & photos this location offers - and particularly so from a drone - that will truly reflect your adventurous decision to elope.
Ireland offers a warm welcome to its visitors and a cosy reception in a local pub is highly recommended. Of course the seafood available here is so fresh, you could book in for a special meal too.
Accommodation wise there are a few hotels as well as some modern cottages close by - perfect for preparations beforehand and celebrating later on! And why not continue your journey along the Wild Atlantic Way to start off the honeymoon celebrations.

Focussed solely on "just the 2 of you" elopements, Boho in Cornwall really do offer the perfect package, making it not just a wedding way, but a complete experience.
And there are many paths your wedding adventure can take here, with the option of the beach or lush gardens for an outdoor ceremony, or the magnificent Country House for an indoors recital taking advantage of the scenic views.
It also offers a romantic retreat you can hire for preparations before your ceremony and relaxing with a glass of fizz in hand afterwards. The team will help organise everything you could need, whether that's a sunset picnic or a chauffer driven ride to a nearby restaurant - the 2 of you really do get to determine every little detail of what you want from your elopement. Of course we can video your ceremony unobtrusively to treasure forever.

If you're looking for total luxury but in a traditional Scottish setting, then Glenapp Castle is the one for you. Set amongst acres of perfectly manicured private grounds, this castle is a 5 star hotel with a range of beautiful spaces available to host you and your guests.
You can create your own elopement celebration, with a ceremony either outside amongst the buzzing bees nestled in the beautiful array of flowers or in the vibey castle library.
And if good quality food & drink are high up on your priority list, then Glenapp should be a serious contender; with a 5-course meal available for your reception.
We shot the intimate wedding of Amy & Nathan at Glenapp, who eloped to Scotland from America with only their closest family members. The history & elegance of the castle was the perfect romantic setting - watch our video above to see for yourself.

THE LOST ORANGERY.
I mean, I don't think I could say anything to compliment this venue that this photo doesn't already convey. Yes, this really is in the UK! How stunningly magical does it look?!
Based in the Cotswolds no less, Euridge House & Orangery has so many options for your wedding day. With up to 6 locations for your ceremony (we're talking boathouses, castle ruins or ballrooms, basically any dream location you could ever want) the exclusive hire venue is a fairy tale location for those who want to push the boat out.
A minimum three-night stay is required, perfect for extending the celebrations beyond just your wedding day - which we always highly recommend! Set within 500 acres of immaculate private grounds there is a lot for your and your guests to explore.
The flexibility this location offers is fantastic, from the different settings within it (like the botcanically vibed Orangery - a beautiful setting for a reception) to choosing your own caterer, you can really make your wedding not only look beautiful but feel unique. We will see you there with our cameras.
Like it's been transported straight out of a Wes Anderson film, the cute little Shepherd's Hut at Aswanly is ideal for those looking for a more rural and laidback elopement. On a remote Scottish hilltop in Aberdeenshire, with a wood burning stove and rustic interiors, you can truly feel at one with nature here.
Aswanly have also, very handily, thought of everything you might need for your elopement - from acquiring witnesses to separate transportation to the hut for the groom & guests/bride.
There's the option for just the two of you or it can host up to 8 people in total, so lots of room for a photographer or videographer too...
Then they can arrange a relaxed and intimate champagne reception overlooking the hills after you've said your "I do's".
Oh and there's onsite accommodation too at Jocky Milne's Croft (could it be any more Scottish?!) for you to relax in afterwards. *sigh* Absolutely perfect.
HARVEST MOON WEDDINGS.
If you're a hippy/nature lover like me, then you'll agree there's nothing like a refreshing Scottish sea breeze to transport you away to your happy place. At Harvest Moon in East Lothian, you only have to travel 45 minutes from Edinburgh for said experience.
Here you have 2 options for your ceremony; get married (barefoot?) on the white sandy beach or amongst their magical treehouse site with views of Bass Rock.
If you're planning a weekend celebration then this venue is ideal as your guests can be accommodated in their spectacular treehouses or luxury tents for the full weekend. Not to forget about the Arabian Nights themed honeymoon tent complete with 4-poster bed!
This is a wedding venue where you can truly create some unique memories and cherish spending quality time with your friends and family.
